Acceptable Use Policy

WAppOTP is for messages people expect: verification codes, account and order notifications, and marketing to contacts who opted in. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.

1. Consent and opt-outs

  • Message only people who gave you their number and, for marketing, clear prior consent. Keep evidence of consent.
  • Honour opt-outs immediately. WAppOTP suppresses numbers that reply STOP or are marked opted out; do not work around it.
  • Identify your business in your messages and do not disguise who is sending.

2. Prohibited uses

  • Unsolicited bulk messaging, purchased or scraped number lists, or sending to numbers generated at random.
  • Phishing, impersonation, fake OTPs, account takeover, or collecting credentials or payment details under false pretences.
  • Sending OTPs or verification messages for services you do not own or operate, or reselling access without our written approval.
  • Fraud, scams, pyramid schemes, illegal gambling, illegal drugs or weapons, or any content or goods unlawful in the Philippines or the recipient's country.
  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual content involving minors, or content that infringes others' rights.
  • Malware, malicious links, or attempts to probe, overload or bypass the security, rate limits or plan limits of WAppOTP.
  • Using WAppOTP in breach of WhatsApp's or a mobile network's terms, or in a way that could get shared numbers restricted.

3. SMS in the Philippines

  • SMS is for OTP and transactional messages, and marketing only to opted-in contacts, in line with National Telecommunications Commission rules.
  • Messages sent through our SMS provider appear under our approved sender name; your content must identify your business and must not be misleading.

4. Enforcement

We may review traffic patterns and reported messages, and may pause campaigns, block messages, revoke keys, suspend projects or close accounts that break this policy, with or without notice where needed to limit harm. Serious violations may be reported to authorities. Credits and fees for accounts suspended for abuse are not refunded.

5. Report abuse

If you received an unwanted message sent through WAppOTP, email [email protected] with the sender number or name, the date and the message text.
