What is WAppOTP?
WAppOTP is a developer API for sending one-time passwords (OTP) and transactional messages over WhatsApp using a WhatsApp number you link by QR code, with prepaid SMS delivery for Philippine mobile numbers. It is operated by PRINTABLES.PH CONSUMER GOODS TRADING in the Philippines.
Do I need Meta approval or the WhatsApp Business API?
No. You link a WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business account you already own from Linked Devices, the same way WhatsApp Web works. There is no Meta onboarding, template review or per-message Meta fee.
How much does WAppOTP cost?
There is a free plan with a monthly allowance of OTP and transactional messages, and paid monthly plans priced in Philippine pesos (annual is 25% off). WhatsApp messages are included in your plan; SMS uses prepaid credits that never expire.
Can I send OTP by SMS in the Philippines?
Yes. Send with channel "sms" to Philippine mobile numbers, or send on WhatsApp first and let WAppOTP fall back to SMS automatically if WhatsApp can't deliver.
Will my number get banned?
WhatsApp can restrict numbers that send unsolicited or bulk messages. OTP and transactional messages that customers expect are low risk. Campaigns in WAppOTP only go to contacts with recorded consent, are throttled, and honour opt-outs automatically. Use a dedicated number and spread high volume across several linked numbers.
What happens if my phone goes offline?
Linked devices keep working for a while without the phone, but WhatsApp eventually signs them out if the phone stays offline. WAppOTP marks the connection as disconnected, queues retries, alerts you, and your webhooks receive connection.disconnected so you can react.
Is this an official WhatsApp product?
No. WAppOTP uses an unofficial WhatsApp Web connection and is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta. You are responsible for consent and for following WhatsApp's terms.
How are OTP codes protected?
Codes are stored only as keyed hashes, expire after a few minutes, allow a limited number of attempts, and are rate limited per phone and per IP. Secret API keys are shown once and stored hashed.
Can I use it from a browser or a store?
Yes. Use an origin-restricted publishable key for browser OTP, the WordPress/WooCommerce plugin, or the Shopify integration guide. Server SDKs are available for Node.js, PHP and Python.
